About Lamb of God

Lamb of God Lutheran Church is a congregation of Christ's holy people, here to proclaim our Lord's saving Word and administer His Sacraments. We rejoice in the opportunities that our gracious God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, has given us to speak His Gospel in and around Kenosha County. At the center of the church's life is the worship of Christ Jesus, the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world. By His resurrection from the dead we are given life in His Name. We invite you to share with us in these gifts and so to grow in the grace and knowledge of our Savior, Jesus Christ. God has called us out of the darkness of sin and death to walk in His marvelous light.

News

In the historic, one-year series of readings throughout the church year, Sunday, February 14, is Quinquagesima Sunday.

Quinquagesima is from the Latin for "fiftieth," symbolizing 50 days before Easter. This follows the ancient practice of referring to the 40 days of Lent (minus Sundays) as "quadragesima."

This time in the church year is a period of introspection prior to Lent -- a Lenten "boot camp," if you will. During pre-Lent and Lent, the "alleluias" and the Gloria in Excelsis ("Glory to God in the highest, and peace to His people on earth.") disappear from the liturgy and hymnody, returning for the festive Easter season in celebration of Christ's resurrection.

Come join us as we celebrate the Divine Service at 9:00 a.m. this Sunday.

We also celebrate the Divine Service Wednesday evenings at 6:45.

All are welcome!
